A MEMOIR THAT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE

T

he one childhood experience that completely changed me and has changed the way I look at the world is when I was 11 and got injured. I fell on my face from the top of a slide and in an attempt to save myself I put my arms forward on the ground and my left arm’s bone broke into two.
My life has been full of fun and joy but after this injury, I got to know many things about this world and this incident helped me to develop myself. What happened is I fell from a slide in my school and put my arms forward to protect myself but the bone in my left arm broke and tilted at 45 degrees angle. I was terrified by the panorama. I ran straight to the library. As I sat there with my mother standing right next to me I saw thousands of eyes constantly facing me with manifestations of amazement. I was being told many things but it was all voiced as if everyone was speaking a different language. All this made me even more anxious and I remembered how I held myself not crying in front of everyone. When I was taken to the hospital I was in the car with my mother and could finally let all those tears and emotions out. I got my plaster accomplished from the hospital and reached home. At first, everyone came to meet me and portrayed sympathy for me but just after some days no one even called once. I had my mother and father caring about me all the time, my grandmother asking me if I wanted something and my sisters playing with me.
I realized 2 lessons from this happening, one that people will only care for you until others do to not let their reputation down, they’ll soon forget about you and go back to living their own lives, the second lesson I learned was that your family is the only one that will support in your hard times. This incident depicted to me what this world actually is and it also shaped my life.
