It was 10:30 am on the 22nd of Jan 2023, Badri high school was bustling with excitement and tears, while parents wished their children the last farewell and student’s piled into buses, along with khidmat guzaars and teachers. Traditionally, every year grade 10 Students of Badri high school are taken for a memorable journey of KUN Safar.
Many of us had made their passports for the first time and were excited to sit in the plane. Our hearts pounded As the plane touched najaf airport and soon we will be in Karbala. Which is the land who pride’s it self on being heaven.
After quick immigration at najaf airport and a road trip to karbala, we were taken to Faiz, where luxurious rooms were given to freshen up. Non of us could still believe that we were in the holy land of Karbala few walks away from the shrine of imam Hussain (AS).
After an hour of lighten up of travels we went for ziyarat of imam Hussain (A.S). As the Mubarak Zari came to view, our eyes were filled with tears and heart with joy as we were about to witness the pleasure of our Duas being heard the wishes fulfilled from our beloved Imam Hussain (A.S).
From many of the perks of traveling with school, We students were given ample opportunity of khidmat, be it Upri, Azan or Ikamat in Masjid e Azam bil Kufa which was a dream come true moment for all us. Not only this but we student were given sand and concrete from Imam Hussain Qabar Mubarak, which was in the grave with Imam Hussain (A.S) as for centuries. I cannot make my mind which barakat we were bestowed was the most precious,… But all were..
These seven days opened up a whole new world for me as I saw Moulatana Zainab taikri, and as Muffadal Moula describes it from that spot she saw Imam Hussain shahadat. Then in Khaimah Gah, every bone in my body shriveled up as Muffadal Moula bayan kept raining down in my head, how aliens tortured and imprisoned Imam Ali Zainul Abideen, how he was tied up in chains, how Moulatana Sakina’s ears were bleeding when laden pulled her father’s last gift cruelly from her ears, how 12 children were tied up in one rope, how camps were put on fire. How did Imam Hussain (A.S) leave the Khama, knowing this will happen, truly it was the day of qayamat.
